THRIVING IN THE 1ST YEAR: Week One: Breastfeeding Basics

Breastfeeding Basics

Once your baby is in your arms, you’ll be feeding them around the clock for months and years! Just as prenatal labour and birth education is important, breastfeeding education may be even more so. Whether this is your first baby or the newest addition, I encourage you to take this breastfeeding class in your third trimester to help you achieve your own breastfeeding goals.

Ashley Pickett, IBCLC will guide you through everything you need to know for a sucessful start to breastmilk supply and latching, ensuring you know how to get breastfeeding off to a good start in hospital and at home.

We will cover :

  • how breastfeeding works

  • how the breasts make milk

  • how to help babies drink effectively

  • the benefits of skin to skin contact

  • managing breast milk supply and flow

  • reading your baby’s feeding cues

  • how to know if your baby is getting enough milk

  • how to help you and your baby get more sleep

  • how to know when breastfeeding is going well

  • and what to do if it is not!

The investment for this virtual group class is $45.

This class is hosted on Zoom. A link will be sent to your email before the class.
